Why do the seasons' dates matter?

Each virtue is associated with a specific range of dates of the year, which we often refer to as a "virtue season". These dates were determined using the stars in the night sky.

We can't fully explain why these dates matter but we have learned through over years of repeated experience that when we practice the 13 virtues in the seasons presented on this site, something really amazing happens. We are able to grow in these 13 areas way faster than we had previously thought possible. There is some invisible miracle available to anyone who intentionally works to grow in a virtue in its designated time of year.

Perhaps even people who aren't intentionally focusing on a particular virtue in its season, still tend to grow in that area without realizing it. We aren't sure. But we do know there is life-changing power in intentionally following the virtue calendar.

Maybe the virtue seasons have something to do with the Earth's changing electromagnetic field throughout the year. Maybe it's some spiritual or energetic process that science cannot yet measure. Maybe you have some other idea. We'd love to hear it!

And we'd love for you to simply try practicing the virtues in their season and see what happens. If nothing else, it's a great way to grow in a balanced and strategized way. And when lots of people honor the same seasons, it's often easier to support one another in the journey.
